My name is Zachary and I am a graduate student studying Science & Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University.

Broadly speaking, my photography and filmmaking tend to focus on the intersections of natural history and human culture — how we examine parts of the natural world that may not align with what are often considered contemporary American values.

Prior to starting grad school, I worked as Environmental Scientist for the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, a nonprofit located on the Atlantic Coast of Delaware. I managed the Center’s continuous water-quality monitoring program, near-shore fish survey, migratory eel, and reforestation monitoring efforts.

Previously, I was the Program Manager at the Karen Noonan Center, a remote environmental education facility run by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and worked as the Chesapeake Conservation Corps member for the Maryland Coastal Bays Program as part of their science and restoration team.

I graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2017 with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Visual Arts and Photography. During my time at UMBC, I worked as Laboratory Manager, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, and interned with Blue Water Baltimore.
